Permanent make-up is micropigmentation: placing pigment in the surface layer of the skin to define brows, lips or eyes without having to do your make-up every morning. At BRUMA, in the Eixample, we always aim for a natural result that suits you, never a painted-on look.
Permanent make-up or micropigmentation?
Two names for the same thing. Even though it is called “permanent”, the pigment fades gradually over time, so the result evolves with your skin and can be adjusted with a touch-up.
Brows: three techniques
Microblading: hair strokes
Fine strokes that imitate hair. The most natural option, especially for normal or dry skin. See microblading in Barcelona.
Microshading: powder effect
Tiny dots that create soft shading, like lightly made-up brows. Recommended for combination or oily skin. See microshading.
Hybrid brows
Hair strokes at the front and light shading through the body and tail. See hybrid brows.
Lips
Lip blush evens out the tone, defines the outline and gives a feeling of volume, with a flattering colour that respects your natural shape.
Eyes: lash line enhancement
Lash line enhancement fills the gaps at the roots of the lashes. It doesn’t look like an eyeliner line: lashes simply look fuller.
How long does it last?
Right after the session colour looks more intense and softens as the skin heals. How long it lasts depends on your skin type, sun exposure and aftercare: oily skin and sun make pigment fade faster.
Aftercare
- Keep the area clean and dry for the first few days.
- Don’t wear make-up on the area or scratch it.
- Don’t pick the small scabs.
- Avoid sun, sauna and pools until healed.

Who shouldn’t have it?
Micropigmentation is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you take medication or have a skin condition, tell us at the consultation.
